TEST #1: he tried it with the stock clutch and contrast spring and the Mallossi variator with the 24gm rollers. (comes with TWO sets; 22gm and 24gm) It ran 300rpm higher across the board, clutch bumped a bit at about 30kph when it fully engaged, had a bit more power off the line, and a bit better acceleration and passing. Can't hit engine cut-out speed at top speed...
TEST #2: changed-out the contrast spring. Almost imperceptible difference from stock...
TEST #3: MIXED 22gm/24gm rollers 50/50. same off the line improvement as 24gms, NO MORE clutch bump, runs 500rpm higher, engine cutout hits at 192kph on level ground...but takes a LOT of ground!!! he called this "the most balanced configuration"
TEST #4: used ALL 22gm rollers. Basically hauls BUTT across the board; better off the line and everywhere else. Clutch is the smoothest, hits 7,000rpm quicker and the ignition cutout hits at 187kph. And you get there quicker!
And you would go with...?
(Or, just put in Dr. Pulley Sliders, get the same effect for 1/4 the cost, and they last 10 times longer...just sayin'..)
