michelin road pilot 4 scooter?

Hello I would like to ask forum members for there thoughts/Advice on these tyres.

I currently have metzeler feel free hoops on my C600 front and back but on a real rainy day I nearly came off with them losing traction in the city.

The metzelers are coming to the end of there life and I have a decision to make.

I previously had a set of pirelli diablo scooter and was impressed, they where confidence inspiring and made me a better rider, I am considering them again but the michelins look interesting.

The michelin road pilot 4 scooter look like great wet and cooler climate tyre, the quoted +45 degree top heat limit concerns me.

I live in Australia and am sure the road temp gets well above this in summer my thinking is in hot weather the michelins will lose traction ? And I'll be in the same position as I was in the rain.

Any help/advice you can offer is greatly appreciated,

Cheers googlemab[emoji2]

I've tried Michelin PowerPure, Michelin City Grip, Metzler Feel Free, Pirelli Diablos. The sweet spot for grip/wear/cost seems to be the City Grips.

Pirelli Diablos work well for me in Singapore..

It gets up to 35-38 degrees C on a hot afternoon, and when it rains, it's torrential. You're literally riding through a centimeter deep of water on a day with heavy rain.

Besides, it does seem that the Pirelli Diablos are the cheapest tyres I can get here too.

Thanks David,

I had not considered the city grips, I discounted them as a city only tire.

I do a fair bit of freeway,

I'll take a closer look at them,

Hello seraphtan,

Thanks for your experience with the Diablos,

I agree that they are a good tire but thought that I might get a longer life with the Michelins,

They are very sticky and where exceptional for me in the dry.

Still keen to hear of people's experience with the Michelins?

Cheers [emoji2]

Here in Chile is pretty hard to find something else than Diablos. A pity since I am not happy at all with the front tyre on rainy days. Slipery as soap.

I have already moved on to Metzeler Feelfree. Let's see how it goes

I've run 1) Metzeler Feel Free, 2) Michelin Power Pure, 3) Pirelli Diablo, and now 4) Dunlop ScootSmart. I'm at 32k miles and just transitioned to the Dunlops and based on my experience so far, I doubt I'll need to look any further. I don't own a car for my use so I ride the C650 rain or shine. Good grip in the wet is one of my highest priorities and I haven't found anything that will touch the ScootSmarts. The reason I wanted to try the ScootSmarts is because I had run Dunlop RoadSmarts on 4 different motorcycles and have been well pleased.

Hey Rugby,

So it only took us 32k miles on your bike for us to find you.;) Welcome aboard. Where do you find the ScootSmarts?

Steve,
I've replied twice to this post and they both disappeared. The message said since I was new they had to be reviewed by an administrator. Either I said something they didn't like, or else they didn't bother at all. Not feeling the love around here. just sayin'

Hey Rugby....Clearly you are a desperado that needs to have your crystal clearance reviewed.;)

Seriously, though, you should be good to go by now. Sometimes takes a couple days...robots and all that. You're one of our higher mileage guys so hang in there. Post a picture of your bike when you can.
