My GT is boring!

My GT is boring and that's the way I like it! It's been perfectly reliable for the past four years, needed a couple recalls but other than those it just goes and goes. I don't have a lot of mileage on mine, about 10K, but it's mostly the worst kind, lots of short trips and stop and go. Looks like I'm getting fairly close to needing a new set of tires, it's third. My second set is getting a bit thinner especially the front. The rear might last this coming summer but I don't think the front will. It's mostly my fault because I ride this scooter like I rode my bikes. Curvy roads are meant for fun. We have a goodly supply of them around here. All in all I'm very pleased with this machine. Not the prettiest with it's avant gard styling, my K1100LT was better looking but I don't see it when I'm sitting on it anyway. It might look less than beautiful to me but the fairing and windshield works as well or better than the ones on my Goldwing did. I guess I'm hooked.

I have the 2012 c600 Sport and the only thing I wish is that the initial acceleration was much faster, takes too long to get going in the stop starts of city traffic. Apart from that I really like that bike.

Boring meaning it just runs and runs like the Eveready Bunny. I also often get questions about the bike, especially, "Is that a motor scooter or a motorcycle?" I just tell them it's a disguised motorcycle posing as a scooter.

Yup, knew exactly what you meant and couldn't agree more. Stopped by my dealer today and the service manager was about to head out on a test drive of a 1977 Kawasaki bike made into a cafe racer. If you want the opposite of the "boring" C bikes, try a 40 yr old customized bike. A work of art, but as for riding and reliability, he'll take a BMW C machine.

I am attracted by Moto Guzzi's, and I day dream about having one. Then my daydream goes to the modifications I would have to make so it would suit me, you know, windshield and fairing , floor boards, auto transmission, etc., and it ends up being a notcher like I all ready have. So whats the point, I will keep what I've got, and the Sport is just as fast.
