My Only Gripe (So Far)

My only gripe with the Sport (so far) is why BMW couldn't have placed the oil filler and dip stick outside of the housing. It would have been very simple. Checking oil should not require removing anything but the dip stick. When on a ride with a group not everyone has the patience to wait for you to remove the housing pieces to check oil. Other than that - it's the best scooter I've ever owned hands down.

You must have some impatient friends if they can't wait 5 minutes for you to check oil I think I would find some new people to ride with

I'd like to trust the "info" button - but I don't. On my bike "Info" displays incorrect tire inflation data and incorrect ambient temperature. Based upon other posts and what I have observed the bikes come with oil at the minimum level - which produces an "OK" reading. In my experience when your oil level is at minimum it's a good time to add oil. I'm going to the dealer today to pick up some of BMW's expensive oil. On another post a forum member said that only 150 ml of oil brought the level from minimum to maximum. Since there is 3300 ml of oil in the bike when full the filler indicates that there is a 5% difference between minimum and maximum. I don't know what amount below minimum is going to set off a warning light and don't care to find out.

Bill - what is the oil check procedure on the GT? I've got to remove two pieces of body molding and one of the stainless foot rests to get to my filler tube using both a #25 and #30 torx screwdriver. There are six tiny torx screws to scatter across the Texas plains which would likely happen in low light and high wind. Plus, getting down on the ground wearing riding gear to get all this done at age 66 is less fun than it might otherwise have been at an earlier stage. IMHO checking oil should be a very simple thing to do.

Lift the rubber pad up on the left hand side of the foot rest take plastic plate off under rubber pad and there is the dip stick (PS it is the passenger foot rest) takes about 30 seconds. Thank goodness I'm only 63
