New C600 Owner

hey everyone in cyber land!
well, my story here in wisconsin is, i traded in my '05 GS for this little baby, and i'm soooo happy with it. my GS took me to some crazy places, even the Holy Grail (Alaska). but after a long trip out west this summer through moab and all that, i just got kinda tired of the motorcycle camping bit and decided to change it up and go for the big scooter, with all it's style and simplicity. i'm still getting used to it, and i do feel a little perched atop it yet - i'm about 6'1, 200 lbs, but that's getting better. love the speed and quickness. and really love the styling (i have the blue one). about the only thing i can tell i don't like about it is the basic "harley-type" riding position, of now having my feet out in front, and all the weight on my arse. with my GS, my feet were underneath and i was much more upright, and could ride from sunup to sundown, for days on end. with this, i can tell it's more of a few-hundred-mile tripper kinda deal, but that's cool, i'm ok with that. when i'm ready for another big road trip, i'll either trade for or just add an RT to my stable. looking forward to hearing about what others think, as well as mods!

Congratulations Mr Jer on your new Scoot. I'm very happy with mine (c650gt). One mod I would like to do is the seat, I would like to move back on the seat a few more inches. Another mod I did was to install a Laminar Lip on the windshield, that made a BIG difference with the wind flow. I have 2002 miles in less than a month. BTW take your next adventure with your C600, cross country should be no problem. I have done it with my Suzuki Burgman 650. The aftermarket mods will come soon.

thanks. and congrats to you, too. might be fun to have a rally someday, somewhere. i'm inching up on 1,000 miles here since i picked it up a couple weeks ago, and am trying to get some miles in before the snow (and salt) flies. my windshield is up as high as it goes, and the breeze hits me at the top of my helmet, so i'm good to go there. funny how much more comfy this thing is at 80mph than my GS was! and looking forward to a bigger trip, think i'll just add the topcase and the tunnel bag and i should be good to go for touring. oh, and i want to add the wind deflectors for the hands, too. i'm sure both bmw and wunderlich, among others, will be coming out with some fun toys to add..........

forgot to add that i just filled up today with 205 miles on the clock for this tank. i'm thinking that's pushing it, as i put in 4.2gals in the 4.2 "usable fuel" tank, whatever that's supposed to mean. do you think that is the total for the tank, including reserve? they're not real clear on that one. my GS had a "countdown clock" that started with how many miles you can now go on reserve and ticked down to zero, which makes total sense, instead of this one that just zeroes out and counts up the miles after the warning light goes on. don't get that one, either. the countdown clock was really helpful, i thought.

Well Jer you were running on fumes, yes the countdown is backwards but can you rely on the accuracy of motorcycle gauges? Have a great Thanks Giving
