There is no doubt some people have experienced devastating problems with their bikes. I'm heartbroken over seeing what Jamie experienced recently. I have written elsewhere on this forum about getting one of the new BMW 750Li cars in the early 2000's that had terrible problems - mostly electronic where it was literally in the shop the majority of a 3 year lease. Seriously. My next car was a Mercedes. I finally got another BMW car this year. It is fantastic.
Having said that - I've had a great experience with my 2013 650 GT. I feel like its because I bought and extended 7 year warranty! One weird fact that is probably part of my asphalt slab riding style - I've got 35K miles and I'm on the original brake pads.
Funny. I love the bike but hearing the horror stories I wonder if I'm on borrowed time.
I've been considering a 2018 Honda Goldwing DCT and then from a recent post began looking at the array of Honda DCT's.
In the meantime. I'm having a great time on my GT.
