I really disliked the remake of Godzilla. Broderick should have thrown in the towel after Ferris Buehler and Maria Pitillo's saving the world by acting like a bimbo news reporter was classic stupidity. But then - this is just my opinion and you know what they say about opinions. Perhaps this remake will be better and Jaime's visit to the IMAX will be rewarded.

By the way Jaime, are you old enough to remember the vast open areas and hills along route 110 in Huntington? We used to ride our dirt bikes out there on the weekends and there were at least 100 bikes present.

I might be old enough... but we didn't move to Long Island till the early 70's when I was still in junior high school (and lived in western Nassau County). I didn't get into motorcycles till 1982, when Route 110 was already a heavily populated commercial thoroughfare (in fact, I was working at the Huntington Quadrangle on Route 110 at the time).

Okay, no Mathew Broderick this time. Should KICK ASS!

I didn't really have an issue with Broderick. In fact, if they'd called the movie ANYTHING but "Godzilla" I might've enjoyed it. The special effects were awesome, and who expects logic in a movie about a 300 foot tall land animal? As impressive as the monster was, though, there was no way in HELL that was "Godzilla."

Just think about this this one, they could have thrown Justin Beiber in the mix and Godzilla could have eliminated him altogether in one clean mouthful. Being from Canada we gave him to you and you don't want him and we don't want him back, this would have solved the Beiber issue once and for all.

The time frame I was riding there was 1969-1972. I was born in Manhattan and we moved to Queens in 1950. I remember the "Island" (what we called Nassau and Suffolk Counties) when they were just beginning to grow.

I remember Rt. 110 be mostly farm land and Adventure land was a big deal also The Walt Whitman mall was one of the first indoor malls and we would go there just to hang out just like the kids do today. I grew up in Babylon Village and graduated from Babylon High School.

 NOTHING TO DO WITH SCOOTERS

I'm thinking it has everything to do with scooters...Godzilla is gravel on turns, shiny spots on the road, road rage, drunk drivers and a few other metaphors. The fine citizens trying to fight it off are the Beemer, Burgman, TMax riders supported by the MSF and a few other gutsy groups.

Gosh, I hope BBT+MSF win. :)

I'll be in Japan next month, should I beware of godzilla? Is he and Mothra back for another round, I don't know why Ultraman can't kill him once and for all......:p
