Just for discussion, the rear frame PN for the Sport is different than the GT and lists as 8.6 lbs. , the GT frame lists as 11.9 lbs. not as much as I thought it would be. There are lots of small weight increases for the GT such as 2.25 lbs. for the windshield motor and bracket. Ask people who build race vehicles the best way to add performance and they will say, save weight. Start building your titanium frames in the garage.
Oh, the wheel base discrepancy , I found the article mentioning the wheel base and I read it wrong, the guy was comparing the Sport to a Gillera 800 ( I think).

Just for interest, I put GT handle bars on my Sport to save my back from leaning forward. It was an effective modification. I made the decision to put them on by measuring the brochure pictures. It turned out that they are higher and therefore push me back into a more comfortable position. I had to twist the brake levers down to avoid the mirrors with the levers.

C'mon, a little fiddling with the variator weights... besides some of us appreciate luxury in a ride.

I still hope to try a cruise control on my bike this spring assuming I can find a decent schematic of the bike's wiring diagram. I haven't seen a CVT equipped bike that has an electronic cruise system so it's going to be less than certain it will work well. I'm hoping to be able to tap an ABS wheel sensor for speed input since it's not going to be possible to use engine rpms in this application. There's a lot more 'elasticity' between the engine and transmission output with the CVT instead of with the fixed relationship provided by gearing. Might be difficult to keep the system from hunting. Just gotta wait until the warranty runs out at the end of April.
