Which to buy,Suzuki Burgman excutive 650, or BMW 650 GT?

The answer that you expect to get from this forum is?

Everybody here made that choice and decided to splash out a little bit more and get the BMW :)

Burgman is also a great Maxi, a friend of mine has one and he loves it. I personally prefer the BMW particularly because of the swing arm suspension which (I believe) delivers a smother ride particularly for the pillion. But that is just my thoughts on the matter.

I've owned both and don't have the B650 anymore. The Suzuki is a fine scooter but it has had a checkered reputation with transmission failures. The BMW C650GT will outperform the B650 in handling by quite a bit due to the GT's greater ground clearance. The B650 is pretty wide in the 'bustle' compared to the GT. I would have kept my Burgman if it weren't for the possibility of a transmission failure which should it happen would cost as much as a used 650 would cost.
I find the C650GT to be easier to do maintenance on, the plastic parts are a lot easier to remove to get at various parts of the vehicle. I also very much like the tire pressure monitoring system on the GT. The single sided swing arm on the GT is a vast improvement over the Burgman's rear wheel set up. If one blew a tire out on the road it would be a simple matter to remove the GT's rear wheel compared to the Burgman. One other thing in the GTs favors is being able to monitor the bike's various parameters with a diagnostic adapter and a smart phone or computer. You can see many areas of performance, clear faults on the ECU and reset maintenance intervals.
The main advantage of the Burgman is that there are more of them out there for sale used than BMWs due to the longer production. Other than being able to find a B650 cheaper than the typical used GT I don't see much reason to go with the Burgman. In the new market there's not really very much difference in price and with the GT you get a three year warranty.

If you have a chance to test ride one at least one or two of them I would do that. Some bikes bit some people like a glove and those same bikes aren't comfortable to others. I'm partial to the BMW. I don't really care for the looks of the Burg. That is just me.

If it's strictly commuting to work on the highway, the Big Burger is hard to beat. Like riding a barcalounger. BUT, if there are bumps, twisties or a desire to ride a bit more aggressively, it's limitations quickly rear their ugly heads. If you plan to do weekend/fun rides, definitely the C650 Gt. Commuting only? The BURGER...

I have a 2006 Burgman 650 and just recently bought a 2013 C600 Sport. While I like the Burgman a lot, the BMW's handling and suspension are greatly superior to the Burgman's. For me, it makes it a lot more fun and comfortable to ride and makes it basically a no brainer decision. The only downside I have discovered with the BMW so far is the clutch and that can be easily rectified by replacing it with a Dr Pulley clutch and variator sliders.
