Previously posted about a lack of TPMS reading and fault light on when riding, some additional information, intermittent problem.
Last weekend, rode to and from BMW MOA rally, 950 miles and maybe 25% of ride the fault light came on for Rear RDC (TPMS) fault and when on there was no reading from the sensor. Initially the thought was a bad battery in the sensor but the problem will happen off and on randomly and you would think that if battery was bad it would just stop working by now but this has been occurring for at least a month now. It may work for 100 miles, come on for 25 miles, go off for 75 miles and then come back on for 10 miles, no real consistency and it almost seems to work more than it doesn't.
Today after changing the oil and used my GS-911 to reset service light and decided I might as well scan the TPMS for codes and it looks like there were 2 codes stored in history (I didn't realize the BMW stored fault codes like most cars, still had a fault from when headlamp went out too). Anyways, here is what I found:
GS-911 version: 1711.3 Datapack version: 9.3 Serial Number: GS1 xxxx Registered to: Mark xxxx
Date: 7/18/2018 Time: 8:58:58 AM
40472: Rear tyre-pressure sensor signal disrupted/interference
The fault is not present now
40466: Rear tyre-pressure sensor faulty
The fault is not present now
Any ideas or anyone ever see this?
