Refueling C650GT

If I refuel at Costco, as I usually do, I stop pumping at the first cut-off click. When I start the bike, the fuel gauge reads 100% full. When I refuel at other Servo's, same process but when I start the bike, the gauge shows 1 or 2 bars from being full. I think the Costco pump nozzles seem to be longer than the other Servo's which does my head in. One would think the longer nozzle would make it harder to fill to the brim. Does someone want to explain this me, using little words please.

My guess would be that the mechanism that detects the tank is full is different at costco's. It's not about the length of the filler tube but about how the pump knows/decides that it's time to quit pumping. For example, it could be that the sensor at costco is mounted higher up in the tube.

I fill my scooter until I see about about a half inch on top of the nozzle stop in the filler neck. Also It helps to have the bike on the center stand when refueling if you want to get a full tank.
