That is the "S" model, with the larger 13 kWh battery. Should be good for 81 miles at a steady 70 mph, which is perfect for me. My commute is 34 miles round trip; mostly highway.

Yeah, but I'm thinking for my purposes, my C650GT will do my winter commuting duties when the roads are clear but the temperatures are freezing. Running my heated electric jacket would seriously compromise the range of the Zero, and it doesn't have heated grips or a heated seat either. When the roads are icy, however, there is no substitute for my Subaru.

Of course. Less than 500 miles to go till 200,000 miles. That seems to have stalled with the new addition, though...

By the way, I've discovered one SERIOUS issue with the Zero. Very often, I find myself going WAAAAAAY faster than I think when I look at the speedometer. Without the additional sensory input of engine noise or vibration, it isn't easy judging your speed. I had the same issue years ago when I started wearing earplugs regularly. I adapted then and I'm guessing I'll eventually adapt to this but... GEEZ! I'm going to get into trouble with this thing.

Ha, yeah there sure is some truth to that. You get used to a bike feel and sound, like Jaime said, and with a new (lighter) bike look out, higher speeds in the neighborhood and general hooliganism is just around the corner.
