Took delivery of my 650gt

So I received my 650gt...love it so far....I have three issues though. After riding it for about 5 miles, I hear a knocking when the bike is idle. Its not super loud but I can hear it knocking. Anyone experience this? Is it just part of the "breaking in" period.
Second issue: my helmet is xl in size and it fits in the storage space but not much else does. There is a deeper section in the front of the storage which to me looks like for the helmet but it just doesn't fit there because the top of the seat on the inside has a big bump that up space in the storage and doesn't let me shut the seat. Is there some special way to do this?

Thirdly, I have no heated seats! When the salesman and I were looking at the 650GT, I was concerned because it was higher ( the seat ) than my Majesty ( Im 5'8" ). He said there was an option to bring the seat down but it meant no heated seats. I quickly told him no, I need the heated seats. He even showed my wife how she would have a separate control for the seat in her seat. So now as I was riding it from the dealership I was turning on the grips etc and everything worked perfect but could not figure out the seats. I went to the owners manual and saw that there was not button for the seats like it showed in the manual and no switch on the passengers side.

When the salesman showed me some of the features, he never went through the grips, etc. Just the main features like ABS, how to turn lights on, etc. I assumed that the GT came with the heated grips and seats. So now I left him an email and text telling him I need the seats. Any advice? Can they install the heated seats after or do I have to trade in the bike? Is trading it in an option since they made the mistake?
I looked at the paperwork I signed and no where is there a spec sheet I signed that says HEATED SEATS.

Help!!!

- If it is what I think you're saying I believe it is just the sound of the motor at idle.

- I put the crown of the helmet down and the helmet sits almost completely sideways in the front area and it fits...

- There is no cooling off period for vehicle sales in Cali. The "good" news is you did not pay for them. The bad news is that you will have to pay for them if you want them. I think aftermarket seats would be an upgrade in any event but I wonder about wiring in the buttons to the handlebars for the front heater which is part of the package as well as for the grips. I don't think the dealer can help otherwise... Bummer

Wow, this is a tough one. Even though you asked for the heated options but the dealer sold you one without it, it depends on what is on paper and final price. I would assume that if it says heated seats and it's not there, they would have to install it for free. If it's not on the specs, you obviously paid less to not have that option and you're stuck paying the difference if you want it installed. This is my personal opinion on how it would go... Not a professional or legal opinion.

I saved myself $1000 by being offered the new showroom model that didn't have the seat. They wanted to get rid of inventory.

Disney- That's the thing. I have no paperwork that has the specs. In every conversation we talked about how I wanted the grips and seats. Like I said before he even showed my wife how she would be able to control the heat on the back seat.

I think TwoPort is right...Im probably screwed but Twoport, you stated I didn't pay for it but what Ive seen you can get the HIGHLINE package which includes the heated seats, heated grips and Tire Pressure Monitor.....or you can get the Heated Grips, Tire Pressure Monitor and the low seat and it looks like they are the same price. So if that's the case, I actually did pay for it. Am I off here

Well that's the issue. All the conversations you might have had are trumped by what is in writing. Part of the 8 1/2" by 4' contract with tiny print contains language that no matter what might have been discussed or said the contract will be the final word on what you're buying. Believe me, I feel for you. I've been there myself some years ago. When I bought mine I tried to understand exactly what the packages were and the prices and it was a little confusing even though I looked at the website and talked to the dealer a couple times. I finally spent a while just asking the sales person what the options or packages were on their bikes and made him show me each one.

You have to look at your contract to see what you bought.

If it says 650gt with high line on your bill of sale you should have heated seats and grips if not you will have to pay for them.

My hat is a Gmax L (big). Here's how it fits in my trunk...

Re: The knock....Are you sure that wasn't you hitting yourself in the head because you didn't buy your bike sooner? :D

Glad you gave your dealer the benefit if the doubt. Sounds like the beginnings of a great relationship.

The idle knock may just be the fuel injectors solenoid firing, above 2,000 RPM no more knock. SteveADV has got the helmet install down, at times you may have to move it around a little but it should fit.

If the noise is bothering you, take the scoot to the dealer. You can't be sure about noises on the internet!!!!!!

The helmet will just need to be maneuvered around within the space, mine will fit perfectly but only at a certain angle/position.

There are many fun discoveries you'll unfold as you become more familiar I.e. When you park, if you want the "daytime" running light, the led in the center of headlights, hold the left turn signal when you turn off the bike. This will cause it to remain on for additional time to light the walkway for you after dark. That's just one. Have fun. Oh, another: if you fold the mirrors forward, they will fold around the windscreen and be completely out of the way, the streamline parking.
That's all for now.

Accessories- Okay I ordered the backrest, the slipstream deflectors and the raincover or the seat.

The last thing is the Scooter Cover. My only hesitation is after its installed and I DONT have the cover on, does it take away from the look of the bike. Another words are there big ugly screws or pieces of fabrics hanging down for all to see. Any pictures for those of you who have the coat?

Here's how I get around that. I use either the side stand or the thumb switch to shut it off leaving the key in the on position. You can still open the seat or the fuel with the key in that position. Then when I'm done doing what I'm doing I shut her down. The headlights are connected to the speedometer, I can shut off the bike and coast into my parking spot with the headlights on and the motor off, but when I get very slow, like 5 or less it shuts off. It will come back on if you speed up again in case your wondering. Also, if you want the headlight on and the motor off that's possible by flicking the passing light. That overrides the speed sensor.
