Crossing the canyon, at lees ferry we always stay at the marble canyon lodge, RUSTIC gas station and resturant, fabulous view, clean
Try to avoid staying in Death Valley as much as possible, east side of park Beatty Nv.
Motel 6 and casino clean, cheap, good food, lots of wild burros wondering about
West side of Death Valley is panamint springs, VERY RUSTIC, good food, pricy beer and VERY expensive gas(fuel in park, cheaper)
If you heading north from the park on 395, first town you come to is lone pine, Lone Pine Inn is just north of county airstrip, clean and reasonable, good resturants nearby
DO NOT overlook the Alabama Hills outside lone pine, nor the western museum
About 500+ movies have been filmed in this area. Just north of lone pine on 395 is manazar the World War Two Japanese interment camp, worth the time
Lots to see in the Owens valley, one trip is never enough, carry lots of water and take pictures
