Wanna USE your parking brake WHILE RUNNING?

That is an excellent idea and highly useful. Thanks for the great idea, will def. be doing this. What did you use to bridge the connection? Just a paperclip?

I have a gs911 and I was thinking the exact same thing. I was thinking the last plug is ground.
I did scan it and it came up with a code saying the voltage was to high. I cleared the code and it did not come back (yet)

Anybody have a OBD tool to see if leaving that connector disconnected throws a fault at the ECU?

The parking brake won't let you ride off, it holds good. I have removed the switch and tied it up with a zip tie to the wire.

Good idea. It works. I performed this trick and then unperformed it ! Guess what will happen if the paper clip falls out? The only way I'd do this trick is to have an identical female plug and solder the paperclip in - then reattach. JMHO

After 37 years of motorcycling this is the most ridiculous "feature" I've ever heard of. When I take delivery in the spring it will be the first modification made. In hundreds of thousands of kilometres I have never once ridden off with my side stand down. I consider this over engineering.

I have, almost. After getting on the bike I was riding at the time (KLR) someone came up to talk to me. Being the easily distracted guy that I am, it would have happened except that the side stand scraped in the gravel I was on as I started to take off. Not sure what that says about my brain power (or lack thereof :D).

I also have a Burgman that has a totally independent hand brake. Very handy for taking both your hands off the bike on a hill,
and it keeps running. I had a look and I am going to override the switch so I can put the side stand down without killing bike.
However, I will use the side stand switch to trigger a bright warning "STAND DOWN" red light on the dash maybe even flashing.

Thoughts, Ideas?
