What about used models? Warranty?

I see some used models online, mostly 2013. What's the deal with the warranty? Does it transfer, how long? etc. thanks again. Oh, and would you buy one out of warranty?

Edit: Ok, I just got off the phone with the dealer, he says the 3 year warranty transfers and continues based on the date of sale. Can anybody confirm that?

Here in the States, as long as the vehicle is covered by the ORIGINAL factory warranty, you can purchase an extended warranty (which is more of an insurance policy with a deductible than a REAL warranty). The original factory warranty is transferable; however the extended warranty is not. Most of the time you can can reimbursed for the unused part of the extended warranty (this was the case with my old Buells and my Yamaha TMAX).

That's how I decided to buy mine from the dealer. It is a 2013 and there seems to have been some BMW/Dealer negotiation thing. My warranty started May, 2014 even though I bought it August, 2014 from the dealer with 4 miles on it. The discount more than covered an extended warranty which I decided to buy. Since I plan to keep it the deal seemed good vs. a new one realizing I'd take a hit on depreciation but now I have a longer warranty than I would have with a new one. The extended warranty covers electronics and things like the windshield movement stuff etc. Over time, I've had more positive experiences with warranties like than bad. I'm hoping if I have an issue this will fit in the positive category.

I bought my 2013 GT with 69 miles on it. It was six months old from the original date of sale and I got the same warranty expiration date as the original owner.

Actually he did have some medical problems, not life threatening but debilitating. It was good for me that so many people have this 'not macho' thing about scooters so I was able to buy a '13 in February '14 with such low miles on it for $9k. This one came with all the bells and whistles too including the top case and liner. Fine little machine. It amounted to me being able to buy the GT and a '95 K1100LT with 11,000 miles for about the same money I sold my Goldwing for. Not bad at all.

I've never seen a GT in person, only the Sport. What is the size difference? For example, the Burgman 650 is just way to big for my liking; how does the GT compare in physical size? Seems that sport models are difficult to find and the dealer did say it won't be imported next year (sport model).

There is a much longer reach to the ground from the seat of the C650GT than from the seat of the Burgman 650. That may be important to you.

I have a full review of the Burgman 650 I recently rode compared to my C650GT elsewhere in this forum.
