Hey scooter lovers! Been kind of quiet here. Watch'yall been up to? Sold my '93 r100r, to a gentleman from Chicago, 2013 c600 sport sold to a rider in Minneapolis. Dealer loaned me a 2016 c650 gt, was either that or a k1300 sport, told him if they loaned me they loaned me the k, might never see me again!

Things do get slow this time of year in a lot of places. Lots of bikes taking the long sleep until spring.

Teenagers in High School Marching band, which means Friday night football and Saturday Marching competition. Trying to get a ride in here or there but not much.

Truthfully, since I bought the Zero back in April I haven't been riding the scooter much. I just topped 7,000 miles on the Zero, whereas I haven't even put 6,000 miles on the scooter this year. Even the K1200LT has more miles this year than the scooter (mostly because I use it for the really LONG trips). With the colder weather coming I will likely start using the C650GT for my commuting. The colder weather reduces the range of the Zero, and even though I learned the electric vest won't have much effect on the range I'd still rather have the superior weather protection of the scooter along with the heated seat and grips.

Well it was 17 degrees F this morning here, so not too much riding. Just working on assembling a road repair kit for next season as well as getting the DrySpec saddles bags set up for my other DrySpec bag. The bike is already pimped out enough!

Sounds like we are all keeping busy. Jaime, for me , one bike works out much better, don't have to make a choice, just hop on and go. With the r, I felt like a conservator! By the way, I really like the f800 gt.

Getting close to the white sh*t. Winter arrives here Monday according to the forecast. I go down to my dealer in the morning as a couple things I ordered have arrived.

This way I ALWAYS have something to ride if one of them is in the shop. And since the Zero has NO spark plugs, NO valves, NO engine oil, NO filters, NO coolant and NO transmission fluid there is precious little that makes me have to bring it into the shop ever. Tires and brake pads I can handle myself.

Yea, the Zero is an interesting bike, I've only seen one locally. Lee, didn't know a bike could be pimped enough! Am done with the 800, Cyclops led high & low beam, Skeene design front & rear, Clearwater Glendas, Zeteknik tall shield, Grip Puppies, side stand enlarger & mirror extenders, a must have to my way of thinking.

Two knee operations plus hip and shoulder shots with therapy as a result of an accident last December have cut my miles way way down this year. Glad I bought the light weight Kymco 300i. Spending time on the Iron Butt Member Forum figuring out my National Parks Tour for next year.

Sorry to hear that Steve, do your therapy and get well. Have you ever read DESTINY of the REPUBLIC BY Candice Millard? I finally learned how Chagrin Falls got its name by reading this book, along with many other historical facts.

My GT is at the dealers for the third time to see if they can fix the problem with the air temperature gauge. I wish BMW would just give up and replace the instrument cluster.

Not cleared to ride anything, so I just don't talk about my Kymco "therapy", but that is going ok:rolleyes:. At less than 400 lbs it is easy to handle.

I have a 2.5 year old and a little girl due in March. I haven't had much of any free time to ride. I probably did less than 1000 miles this year and 500 of those miles were a charity ride over one weekend. I'm most likely going to be trading in the c600 this spring. Triumph Bobber or Scrambler is calling my name right now. Since I won't get to do much riding, I decided I need something more visceral than the BMW. Still love it, but it is too appliance like right now. I no longer really need it for commuting, so being practical isn't high on my list.

I was going to go with a s1000xr, but no way I can justify the cost relative to the piddly miles I will probably ride next year.

I'm getting toe fusing and knee shots this winter. No RVing or tropical trips. Will use a knee walker and crutches. At least I will get a handicapped tag out of it. Aging is a bitch. Have to get everything done before sail racing this spring.

I miss sailing. Living here in Medford, Oregon is great but I've never lived this far from salt water in my adult life. Although living in Alaska this time of year is for boat maintenance not sailing. Lately it's been pretty wet this last few weeks. More like the Pacific Northwest than Southern Oregon. I've only run a few errands with the GT in the last month. It's resting in the garage with the battery tender plugged in.

Hey exavid, where in Alaska did you live? I lived in Sitka for 12 years. Great community and great fishing, not too great for riding since on an island with 25 miles of paved road with top speed at 45 mph!
