What made you choose BMW over Burgman?

I'm 6ft2 and I found C650GT most comfortable. Also, I live in extremely busy city and car is not usable in commuting to the center where I work. I owned Piaggo Beverly before and it was perfect for commuting but out of the city it was too small. Instead of buying second bike I searched for something for both worlds. Needed a big storage space, comfortable for long rides but also maneuverable between cars for daily commute. After 2 years it turned out to be correct choice! Did about 18000km in 2 years, half commuting very busy city and half is about 10 trips of about 1000km. In both aspects scooter behaves perfectly. No flaws at all, reliable, comfortable.

Second reason was purely subjective (aren't those often the most important!). Burgman is quite common in my city and image behind it (I mean people riding it) is.... ahhhh. Not good :) Ther's only a couple of C650GTs arround. I just hate mainstream stuff so BMW is a winner here. I like the design more.

Other details I wasn't thinking about before but turned out to be something I really like:
- side stand with a break
- electric windshield (huge one! Rain? move it up. Too hot? Move it down.)
- TSC (was activated more than once when I was not expecting it. Probably saved my butt from falling a few times)
- huge trunk (I hate "boxes" and never use those, have enough space!)

Lastly, one thing I dislike... quality of (some) plastic. Somebody says Burgman feels cheaper. Never tried it but on the street it certainly does not feel like cheaper. Some BMW plastic is just way, way below quality level you'd expect from BMW in this price range.

IMO, 2019 C650GT seemed much more stable (no "float"), suspension was far better, engine was much more responsive and sounded like quality compared to Burgman. The Burgman is a good machine but the BMW seemed like an upgrade. besides, the C650GT sounds way cooler!!!

Looked at a few before setting on a used C650GT. Previously owned a sliverwing 600 - competent but no sparkle, test rode an MP3 / 500 - awful build quality, and felt like I was perched on top (but still a hoot to ride). Looked at Burgman 650, but it seems so l-o-n-g, I assume it must be less nimble. Haven't had a chance to test ride one - none available round here, but loved the C650 on test ride, so bought it. Not a lot of science to my decision, but I don't regret it. I will be doing my own services so that should keep costs down, and I'll be happy to buy the Mitsuboshi drive belt instead of the BMW branded one, which will save another load of cash
