Which BMW accessories to get?

So, I'm nearing a purchase of a BMW c600. Are there any accessories to avoid, others you added later that really work. I'm trying to decide what I might try to negotiate into the deal. I already have a givi top case so I'll just purchase a give plate aftermarket.

What about the tunnel bag, is it really as bad as webbike says?
How about the slipstream protectors?
The drop protectors?
I actually do want the seat protector.

Any advice would be appreciated.

The only accesories i have are the tunnel bag, never fitted it or used it as i just use under seat storage, seems well made though. I also have the akrapovic silencer, fitted it because of looks and to preserve the original. Also have fitted extra power socket under my seat for charging up the battery.

I'm thinking of getting the seat rain cover. That's really the only part that I care about being dry when I drive home. Seems the passing showers pass at 4:45 only. Don't really like to put the rain gear on if it's just a wet seat.

Yeah, I saw that review; too bad because the c600 could use some more storage. On the other hand, if you look at the accessory catalog I linked, the picture of the c600 has the tunnel bag and it appears to line up differently than on the 650GT. I wonder if it was made specifically for the c600?

Glad to hear that you've decided to go ahead with the BMW. As you saw from my posts this weekend, I put a lot of miles on mine (VT one ride and coastal MA on Sunday) and it gave me a lot of confidence that I did indeed make a good buying decision. I think that the only thing the dealer can add is an alarm system(?). My aftermarket accessories, in order of enjoyment/usefulness are:

1. Blind spot mirror (also the least expensive). Helps with visibility in seeing what's in the lane to my left. AutoZone.
2, Wunderlich wind deflector - really cuts the noise and buffeting. You do have to get used to the change in visibility (hardware just below eye level) but I adapted pretty quickly. Alternative is a whole different windscreen.
3. RAM X-Grip and left brake reservoir mount. Use it all the time to securely hold my phone (set to Google Maps or Waze while riding).
4. The notch I cut into the lip going around the glove box containing the cig lighter, to be able to run my Galaxy S4 power cord up to my phone without crimping it. I guess that is the least expensive :) unless you count the $5 cig lighter to USB adapter.
5. GoCruise Universal throttle control. (All metal, not the plastic version). Good to be able to relax my right hand for a few seconds, but I don't use it for much more than 30 seconds at a time.

Enjoy the new ride and keep us posted on how you like it once you get some miles under your belt.

The BMW tunnel bag is crap. But what's not crap is the Yamaha T-Max tunnel bag. It attaches to the fuel door with an elastic strap and very easily moves out of the way granting access to the glove boxes. I use the hell out of mine. It's where I put motorcycle tools and bike related things that way the underseat and top box is for personal items.

I'm prob the only member here who has the Scooter Leg Cover. But I swear by it. Perfect in the rain but equally effective on cold days. When comfort oot weighs fashion, this is the ticket. Plus it has a built in seat cover.

I had the tunnel bag when I had my TMAX. It was a good fit, but I never used it... I had more than enough room with the Yamaha (Givi) trunk and the underseat storage. The C650GT seems to match that storage volume with just the underseat volume; the top case I added is just "gravy" so I don't really miss having the tunnel bag (I included it when I traded in the TMAX). I wonder how well the TMAX tunnel bag would fit our scoots, though... the fuel door is similar to the TMAX. Hmmmmm...

I installed the stock BMW gps mount, then put a phone holder onto it so that my phone is in the gps mount location. I cut the gps power supply cable and added a socket to add dual usb power supply sockets.
Upgraded to a car horn
Bought the Givi Easylock mount hardware, I attach older soft cortech bags to them.
Wunderlich add on spoiler for windshield, works great but have to get used to the metal in the line of sight.

Finaly, all the power mods you can throw at it: PC v and custom tune; Apocravic pipe and Catylitic converter delete; K&N filter; Dr. pulley clutch and Polini variator

it fits perfect... I had a friend who sold his T-Max and gave me his bag. It's great. You just have to get over the tuning forks on the lid.. lol
