Just went thru this thinking process. Sierra BMW said if I got a Li-Io battery (which they sell) I'd have to make sure my battery tender did not have anti scaling. Li-Io is great technology. It does have some idiosyncrasies that I didn't want to deal with. My replacement AGM cost $80...
Lee - a ride I really enjoy is out of Sisters: Hwy 242 out of Sisters - L on Hwy 126 to Takota Restaurant( near Blue River) for lunch - back on 126 to Sahalie Falls - return to Sisters. This is the run I started last week when my battery died. How about I meet U and we do the ride. I'll...
On my thread about a battery problem I mentioned the windshield won't move. I removed the battery for an hour while I installed a replacement. What effect that can have on the windshield I can't imagine. Is there a fuse I could have blown? Any advice?
Had a bad battery day. Bike started in AM -rode 50 miles - stopped to visit Sahalie Falls - bike wouldn't start. Had to get a tow truck for a charge of $485. I did leave my key on overnight a month ago and the battery was dead the next AM. That's what fried my battery (By Sierra BMW in...
Me2 !!!!
I've dropped mine twice in exactly the same situation as you described. Both times it cost me $100 to get a panel unscratched and repainted. Next time, and I believe there will be, I'm going to go to a guy who does 3M film and cover the scratches with some graphic. I came from a...
Read the TPMS instructions in the manual. If I'm reading correctly? Do NOT rely on an air pressure gauge static. Rely on the TPMS because it considers air temp when giving a reading. I now pump the tires to F=40psi, R=44psi. The TPMS now reads F=36, R=40 - which is the pressure I want while...
I had a chance to look at, hold an Akrapovic slip on at a BMW dealer. You could look straight thru. Anyone taken off the stock muffler to see if there is baffling or blockages. Really would like a different more noticeable sound but will not pay Akra's price. I'd consider punching out mine...
I have been paying attention to my tire pressure readings and Real vs Indicated is a consistent minus 3#'s on both tires. I figure with this info I can pretty much rely on the TPMS reading to know when to add air.
The "check oil" light came on. I checked the oil after a ride and it was low but above the "Add oil" mark. The next day I started the engine and let it run until I felt hot air coming out of the muffler. Probably 2 minutes. I then started adding oil until it was to the top mark. I guess...
Saw my TPMS yesterday. Bolted to the inside center of the wheel - not an integral part of the valve stem. I wondered why my rims seemed to have an inordinate amount of wheel weights. The TPMS is huge and is the reason the wheel is so out of balance. And a replacement TPMS is $165 each...
I want Organic
Am I missing something? I did a search for EBC SFA-142 & SFA-196 ( Non Sintered) and pads for 3 rotors would cost $23 each for a total of $66 for a complete set of new shoes.
WOW!!! What a tip. Thanks. They happen to be having a 50% of sale also. I did order an XL. If you see this reply please respond ASAP if I ordered the wrong size.
Anyone bought just a silver seat cover? I parked next to a Burgman and the guy had a tiny cover that just fit the seat. I've been raising the seat during these hot days but can't always keep out of the sun.
These tire sizes are not the easiest to find. Neither the Bike Bandit nor Motorcycle Superstore had both. I did buy on eBay but from 2 different sellers. JFYI, I paid $71 for the front and $132 for the rear. I have used dual compound Michelins on my Harley and liked the ride and wear. Why...
