Replacing Brake Pads -- Crazy Simple

I was 6,000 miles for rear pads - front still has a fair amount left on them.

I just changed mine at 15k. I think I could have gotten another 5k out of them.

Although I am not a racer, when I ride aggressively, I try to ride smoothly with minimal breaking. After all, when you brake you make heat. That heat is wasted energy to achieving forward motion.

Don't forget to return the plates. #2 in the diagram.
I had to replace mine after 6200kms. Traffic in this country is horrendous.

I am at 35000km about 21000 miles will be replacing my pads this year at some point

I have 19000 miles on my bike and the pads look almost new. Than again there isn't much traffic here or stop lights

5mm new 4.5mm minimum, front and back.

I think you misunderstood me, you can replace the pads but the old ones can't be refurbished

Am I missing something? I did a search for EBC SFA-142 & SFA-196 ( Non Sintered) and pads for 3 rotors would cost $23 each for a total of $66 for a complete set of new shoes.

I wouldn't worry about more rapid wear on organic pads. My Goldwing 1800 had pads just about the same size as those on the GT. If they can stop that beast and give good service as they did they'll do the job fine on the scooter. I do prefer the less abrupt operation of the organics. I suspect the sintered pads might trigger the ABS more often since they are grabbier but of course don't know if that will prove true. Like everything your mileage will vary and some like one, some the other.

The HH pads are sintered.. And, it's in SGD.. So I'll have to do a x1.5 / x1.6 to a USD. And include shipping. And since I bought it from a workshop here, they charged me $20 to get it installed. Didn't have a choice since my pads were worn thin, and I didn't want to wait a month for the pads as I commute to work on the C600.

Anyone threaded the Hex bolt before? As in the pad retainer pin? Second time for me... dont know where im going wrong
