Boots

Best, most versatile, comfortable and most durable boots I've ever owned. Don't let the price turn you off... I've had my pair for nearly a decade now, they're on their second set of soles. You can stand and walk in them all day, they're not advertised as waterproof but unless you plan on going fly fishing for trout and standing in the river your feet will probably never get wet either if you treat them as instructed. Aerostich stands behind these boots too; I've never had customer support from any other vendor that compares to what I've gotten from Aerostich. I've been riding since 1982 and fully 95% of my riding gear today comes directly from their catalog.

Thanks Jaime, here you about the 'stich their boots are on short list also. Chippewa has some good looking boots made in USA, somewhat less cash

I was in the "Reserves" long enough to accumulate a large cache of "combat" boots of various types; leather, Goretex , steel toe, soft toe, black and desert. I find them comfortable for riding and good for walking when necessary. The Goretex boots are more waterproof then I expected. And, of course they are not weird looking like a lot of " riding boots" . (my opinion)

I've recently bought some BMW Urban boots, and well pleased with them, not Goretex but made with a oiled leather, so pretty waterproof and on a scooter your feet don't get as wet as a normal bike. Here in the good old British Isles we know plenty about getting wet.

I really like the 11" Danner Strikers Service boot, lace up with side zip. Comfortable for riding and walking and quick on and off. Similar to a combat boot but lighter designed for police and ems personnel. The 11" height with the zipper makes it quick and easy to blouse my pant legs in cold weather to keep the breeze out.

I never seemed to be around when they gave out the boots with zippers. I used lace in zippers on some boots, but, not all brands were suitable.
