Brake Reservoir leaking

New BMW C 650 GT with 500 km. on it. About a month and a half ago the rear brake reservoir cap vibrated off on the freeway, never to be seen again. Ordered new from BMW. Took a month to come in, but no plastic seal. My scoot has the aluminum cover, a plastic insert under the cap, and a rubber diaphragm. The local dealer says his schematic shows no such plastic cap. Took off my right (front) brake reservoir and there was a plastic cap that assisted the seal. Informed the dealer that my still leaks like a sieve with out the cap. Took the cap off the right brake reservoir and installed it on the left reservoir. Problem solved. Accept now the right (front) brake reservoir leaks like mad. The dealer claims that there is no such plastic seal and doesn't know why mine had them. Its leaking bad enough that I lose half my fluid as shown on the reservoir glass in about 50 km. Any ideas out there? Really need some help.

BMW will call it a "boot", I was unable to look it up on the webEPC from BMW, the web page would not load. However I found the name by looking at R1200 on Bikebandit to get an idea of what iti is called. they may not understand gasket, did you show him the one form the other side to explain?

Yes I showed him the cap (or boot). He claims BMW says it doesn't exist. The dealer just got another C650 GT in and is going to take it apart to see if they all have it, or if it is something that was found inadequate and changed. Thanks for the assistance, appreciated.

The Service Manual refers to it as a "Support Plate". Tell your dealer to look at the service manual, section 34.

Does this manual convert to English well.

Can you tell us about this disk. For example will it instruct us to do the valves or replace the belt or show us how to replace the chain if we are the do it ourselves people.

Yes, it is multi-lingual. It does provide step by step instructs, generally with drawings or photos.

Otbiker was bang on. Dealer found the piece (support bracket) in the service manual, section 34, (wasn't in the parts manual and BMW claimed no knowledge of the part). The dealer just received a new C650 GT in and checked for the part. It was there so they are taking it from that scoot to put in mine on Monday. Finally, after almost two months down a solution!
