Hello everyone,

I just wondered if anyone else that has the GT with a top case fitted could measure their scoot
for the overall length. I had ordered a Dowco large motorcycle cover, and it's too small. I'm going to send it back
and get something bigger. The problem is that all the parts of my top case are not here yet and I don't want to order
a wrong one again. I'm thinking that their XXL Touring cover might be right.
Can anyone help?

Thanks, Skipper

The C class scooters have a very similar overall dimensions of a R1200RT, especially of you have a top case. When ordering a cover, if it states it'll fit the RT then you're in business. That's my rule of thumb anyway.

I didn't see an answer so I checked mine. I get approximately 103" sans box and about 110" with the BMW box. There could be an inch one way or the other since I measured by eye without perpendiculars.

Okay, I was embarrassed because of the difference in our measurements so I just went out to the garage and measured the length with and without the top box using plumb bob perpendiculars. It came out Length without box: 92.25" and with box: 98.25". Both measurements are from the forward most part of the front tire to the rearmost part of the box mounting plate. That goes to show it's nearly impossible to get a decently accurate measurement by eyeball and tape measure. This time I used the plumb bob to drop a perpendicular down and make a mark on the floor then measured the distance between the marks on the floor.

These GTs are pretty long scooters my Goldwing was 104" long so the GW isn't much longer than 6" 650GT. Pretty impressive considering a GW is one of the largest motorcycles going. When you look at the power to weight ratio, the BMW maxi's actually have a bit more horsepower per pound than the big bike as well.
