The "check oil" light came on. I checked the oil after a ride and it was low but above the "Add oil" mark. The next day I started the engine and let it run until I felt hot air coming out of the muffler. Probably 2 minutes. I then started adding oil until it was to the top mark. I guess about 12oz. Next day I want on a ride and checked the oil per the book. WOW. The oil was a half inch above the full mark. I siphoned out the excess - 8oz - and after another ride the oil is right at the full mark. And I found during the siphoning process that I don't like the taste of BMW oil :p Anyone know how much oil is between the Low and Full marks?

Got back Tue from a 2000 Mile ride to Washington. A big loop with a couple of buddies. Up 395, down the coast on 101. Checked oil when I got home and zero usage. it is a PTA to check the oil but starting to realize this thing just does not use any oil. I have 4k on it and maybe used 3 oz.

When I leave the scooter running on the side stand the "check oil" light comes on but if I am on the street on level ground I will always get the "oil OK" any slope on the road I get "---"

OH-OH. How do you run the scoot while on the side stand? I have considered bypassing the engine shut-off while on the side stand.

I disconnected the side stand switch and crossed the current with a paper clip. There is a thread called "wanna use your parking brake while running"

It will bring up an error code so before you begin have scooter on the center stand running with side stand up then stop it you may avoid the error code. I have a gs911 so I was able to reset the code.
