disappointed with BMW

Thanks JPG68. Will keep you in the loop, too. Calling my dealer tomorrow. My best mpg is the same.
 
I sold my c650gt last month with 2000 km. I've had about 10 motorcycles and owned different BMW models. Also had some Hondas. The c650gt rides very well but I have some mixed feelings about it. Doesn't feel really solid. After two weeks all kinds of strange sounds appeared. The clutch was very shocky after two weeks. My wife's honda pcx125 is 5 times cheaper and has none of these bizar things. The dealer did not reAlly wanted to look at my problems. These are the different reasons why I sold it.
 
Make sure the GM at the servicing dealer is aware of your frustration. I had an issue and the GM was key to getting BMW to take action. In my case the scooter had to stay at the dealer while the issue was diagnosed. The issue I had (no longer own the scooter) was the only C650 known with that particular problem.

In the short time I was able to ride my C650, I had a great time and the dealer was great. However, after this experience and at my wife's recommendation (she was sick of hearing me complain) I decided to go back to a Japanese motorcycle.

I am 6' 2" and it is not as comfortable as the scooter, but not bad. The seat is more comfortable and the engine is amazing.

The build quality is execllent.

Considering the quantity of GT's that are being sold..I do believe that the only option for us Sport owners is the Givi with the hand deflectors. Its nice to hear that they work as I too am considering
 
Update on fuel gauge issue is basically no update. Dealer tells me they have done all the procedures per the bmw bulletin (change sensor, update software) and are waiting to hear back from bmw on next steps. Told me to call them every couple of weeks to see if bmw has any update. Thanks to MRJB for sharing his experience with me which I think was fairly similar but I'll let him comment.
 
No progress. Talked to my dealer two days ago. Nothing from BMW. Like JPG68, advised to keep calling every few weeks.

As noted in another thread, bike now sometimes won't hold idle when the engine is warm in cold weather.
 
Still trying to work with BMW. Four conversations with different customer reps, email to customer service and an email to the VP of Marketing for the central region. No progress worth noting...
 
Seven weeks with no contact from anyone at BMW. How hard is it to make a call or a quick email with a message of "hey, we haven't forgotten about you and we are working to find solutions." Nothing, just nothing.
 
As to the gas gauge. I have found after a fill up, turn the key on, and allow enough time for the gauges to do a full sweep.
The fuel gauge will now show full. Otherwise, the gauge will not "update".
 
OK, need advice about how to get BMW to respond. Sent an email a month ago to my latest assigned rep but no response. That's 5 phone calls and 3 emails to customer service, as well as tracking down a VP of marketing to plead for help (got referred back to customer service - he only deals with cars...). Thanks.
