Finally found a way to mount my PIAA 1100LED lights

As many of you C650GT owners know ( not sure about the C600 sport), there are not many places on our bikes to install auxiliary lights so after check everywhere and not finding a proper mount for my lights, I decided to make one. It is not that hard. All you need is about 18" long 1" x 1/4" steel plain bar to fabricate your own mount. You need to reduce about 2" of the width of the bar to about 3/4" for it to fit in the spot. It is not pretty but it is very sturdy and gets the job done. I let the pictures speak for themselves.
PS: Those PIAA 1100LED are very powerful for their size!*

Those are very smart looking. I was thinking I might mount some lights in the same place, the sport is not any better in mounting options.

Do you have them on all the time? or is it something that you use like an extra bright addition to the high-beams.

They triggered by my high beam and I have them on only durning day time so people can see I am coming but I have to turn them off in the intersections because they are very bright, even during the day. Very good lights!

What are your thoughts on these now that you've had them for a while. at 3hundred ish dollars they look very inviting, but I am concerned that without a dimmer, they might be too bright. I like the clearwater and vision x products but they are awfully expensive but do provide a dimmer. I would like aux lights on during the day ( hope not to terrorize oncoming traffic) and at night when riding up in the hills or on a cloverleaf on/off ramp that can get dodgy when its dark. I assume they are brighter than stock H7?

Came across something you might be interested in. ADVmonster builds led lights and controllers for GS style adventure bikes. They offer a wireless PWM controller that should work on your Piaa's. Dimmable low beam and full power when switched to high beam. just some info.

I am very happy with these lights. They are very powerful for the small size they have. I have attached them to my high beam and I turn my high beams on when I need more light. Since I have installed bi-xenon projectors, my low beams are good for around the city and I turn my high beams on when there are no cars so no need for a dimmer. It goes full power every time I trigger the high beam!

Something about great minds think alike springs to mind.

We'll shortly have a kit ready for our lights as well. Prototype is similar to this, production is allow, powder coated for durability.

2. Dimmer - then automatically to full power when high beam is switched on
