High idling Problem has appeared on the C650GT

If anyone can shed some light on what might be the issue with my bike I would appreciate it. I took the bike for a 60 mile ride today. No problem getting to my destination but developed a high idle on the return ride home. It seemed that every time the bike got down to just under 20 mph the bike would lurch forward slightly, almost like kicking into a new gear and the idle would increase to 3rd bar which is either 2000 or 3000 rpm? Anyway, while sitting at each stop light it would idle much higher than normal and did the same lurching motion every time I slowed down to just under the 20 mph mark?? Any thoughts would be appreciated as I am at a loss??

Mine did that once about 18 months ago. Not since. Turned it off then restarted. Hope your problem goes away like mine did.

The idle speed is controlled by the computer. Should be a simple fix ... have your dealer/service center perform a computer-reset for you.

Thanks Guys for your input. I have not ridden it since I got it home, I will do so this evening and see if the problem is still there, if so, I will ask about the computer reset!
