Kaoko throttle control installed

After reading the WBW review I decided to order. I went to Kaoko's site and had to select "not listed" > I got a pretty quick response from them diredting me to Twisted Throttle and I gave them a call. They expected delivery in 6 to 8 weeks. That was fine with me as it was a new product from Kaoko. Then Kaoko emailed me again to make sure I had been contacted and taken care of.

Excellent customer service from Kaoko and Twisted Throttle...need to email them a thanks!

I ordered the Kaoko about 6 weeks ago from Twisted Throttle and it arrived yesterday.

WBW's review was spot on!

Installation is a snap...took maybe 2 minutes. I was used to a brake-away so this will take a little getting used to.

I had a 300+ mile run today so I got a chance to check it out. I need more experience with it but I really like it. Holds the throttle position well but can still roll on and off fairly easily. I wasn't able to "lock" the throttle to where I couldn't roll it off even though I tried a few times.

It works fine. I don't see any issues. It holds the throttle with little turn.
Hopefully it won't create any issues later.
 
I was balking at the price of the Kaoko and considering making my own version or modifying one that I already had that doesn't fit. What I would really like is dual throttle, left and right, I just have to find the time to build the system. It's designed in my mind. Anyway, I found this; Universal Motorcycle throttle lock, and ordered one right away. It's made in plastic or aluminum, the latter more sophisticated with an adjustment screw. Watch the video. I bought the anodized aluminum model for $34 bucks, free shipping, and got it in TWO DAYS!! . Tried it out today and it works great and does the job.
 
I have Throttlemeister. I've had them on my last three bikes (Buell 1125R, Yamaha TMAX and now my C650GT). I love it. It looks like a normal handlebar end, with a "secret function." I just wish BMW put a REAL cruise control on the GT model. Right now, the C650GT is the ONLY model with the "GT" designation in BMW's line that doesn't have cruise control.
 
Unlike other throttle locks I have used, I realized that the inelegant "GOCRUISE" had an advantage in that I can open the throttle for an instant or more, and then return it to it's set position without searching through and fighting the friction. This always irritated me with other units I have.
 
Yup, I agree. I am having my KLR serviced and adding few things, but one of the best will be the throttle control. I use it nearly every time I am out on my 650GT. Not always because of the ride distance. Sometimes because I need two hands to adjust my helmet, neck cover, shoot my rifle, etc. :D

(Edited to add a smiley face just in case there might be those that wonder about the rifle. Hey, yah never know...)
