I damaged the tail trim recently while towing my scooter on a trip and i need to replace it (it's beyond touch up repair). I ordered a replacement from MAX BMW. Looking at the manual it doesn't mention how to remove it unlike the front panels. Just wondering if anyone has replaced it and if they have instructions or have MAX install it.

Thanks!

The manual has the following steps:
Opening seat
Removing carpet for luggage compartment
Removing left rear trim panel
Removing right rear trim panel
Removing rear grab handle
Removing rear trimmer with rear-light unit
Cut through the cable ties.
Disengage socket for the number-plate light.
Remove screws.
Remove license-plate carrier.

I've taken mine off when I wired up my aux brake lights. It's fairly easy just be prepared to take the rear passenger grab rail off. They is no need to fuss with anything else. It's only about three or four torx screws and then the pax grab rail to remove. It's easy enough that I've, on occasion, just removed the body panels to wash and wax and polish them.

Thanks Xian and Tom for your reply. Once i remove the passenger grab rail, do i need to remove the carpeting in the luggage area as tom mentioned out to get at the torx screws? I've had the passenger grab rail off before, from what I recall I don't think I've seen any torx screws behind the rail.
