so i've ridden my new baby about 1,000 carefree miles, very little in the rain. had it parked outside my office the other day in a drizzle and noticed today that the brake levers both have rust on them at the little wheel adjustments! huh? looks like crap, and will be more than a little embarrassing when i show this thing off more in the spring. my GS had thousands of miles in the rain, and i remember no rust on it at all! what's up with this, guys? anyone else notice this (yet)?
was thinking black levers (when they come out) will probably be swapped out anyway, but this looks bad, and i'm guessing will just continue to worsen............

Where are you parking it? About 2 summers ago it got very humid where I lived and I had my scooter in my extremely tiny and cramped garage. Didn't bother wiping it down daily as I did a daily cleanup about once a week but then the dreaded rust formed.

i've got a nice, big and bright, super-dry garage. the scoot was merely parked outside my office one day in the drizzle (i ride all the time, not just sunny days). it's been drizzly/foggy/rainy around here in wi for the past month. regardless, these levers should not be doing this, reminds me of my old honda 350! and believe me, i am an eternal optimist, always looking for the best of something, just noticed this ugly rust on my new toy. i have a feeling i won't be the only one................

Just went to check my scoot and no rust here. I was in the rain last week and have not wiped it down yet.

that was a good heads up Mr. Jer

So that must be grease.

The quality of the screws and bolts on the C600 is better then on my 1200GS (2008).

it is grease! very cool! i didn't notice it early on, but with some miles on, i suppose it squeezed out. mine is only around my little adjustment wheels, down in there, and looks exactly like rust. whew! thanks, ron!
