Side Mirrors swap out

@teleman609

I’ve been checking out AliExpress for the mirror setup. There is a short and long mirror arm option.

Will you be able to post a picture of your setup from the cockpit showing the position of the mirrors and windscreen?

Thank you!

Be real carful with AliExpress on this one. I have seen that you can purchase just the mirrors. The kit with out the bracket to mount them to the windshield and the entire kit.

@mgg

Thank you for the heads up!

I did noticed the pictures show the complete kit but the short description indicates bracket, mirror or bracket - mirror.

In fact some sellers selling the bracket - mirror kit as just the mirror and bracket with no hardware based on the pictures in the ad.

I considered ordering the kit from Amazon but it’s listed for $150CDN vs $73 from AliExpress

Sorry gentlemen, my emails went to my junk folder for some reason. Let’s see if answer you guys efficiently.

Wspollack, those are skene Phantom boosters. Went by your recommendations, thank you.

The lights below the headlight are cheap Amazon LEDs but adds a cool look I thought. Might just get better lights for that location in the future.

The stock mirrors were just not doing it for me so I looked around and saw those took a gamble. It paid off because I love them!
I see everything behind me now without having to move my head down. It does come with the whole kit or can be bought separately.
LED Light https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QLPFZSD/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Mirror w/ bracket https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0CPP89WRS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A2FZFWD64KT2X6&th=1
I was thinking about adding Skene lights in that same space you placed the Amazon LEDs. Did you just tsp into the Skene controller wires when you installed them?

Yes I tapped into the skeen connections. I was thinking of putting the skeen lights there as well, hence why I did the Amazon lights.
I just didn’t want to drill into the plastics.

A little late to the convo on this one. I find the rearward visibility of the mirrors acceptable. Where they fall short (IMO) is in their placement and design. The reason I say this is they create turbulence in the cockpit that hits me in the sternum at 6 02. The turbulence is not the biggest concern. Being in Florida, you are going to ride in the rain from time to time whether or not the forecast tells you so. Rain hits the back of the mirror (obviously), travels downward, becomes picked up by the airstream, and also gets directed to the sternum. For that reason alone I need to add extenders. If nothing else, it will become a quieter ride.

You won’t go wrong with the mirrors I added. For me it was the best option. Good luck with whatever you decide hope it works out for you.

I ordered my mirror relocation kit from AliExpress for $67CDN. AliExpress is having a summer sale promotion. Additional discounts for larger orders.

The above price based on the Kaoko (Chinese version), mirror plugs and a set of cheap lights (refer to c650 forums)

Great time to order if you’re interested in relocating your mirrors.
