Tunnel bag, back seat bag, addle Bag

I use the BMW tunnel bag which I find useful. It clips on and off easily leaving the harness in place. You do lose access to the dash side pockets which is a pity but inevitable.

As for saddle bags I use Kappa soft bags which I simply strap across the back seat and secure with the supplied bungie cords. My girlfriend sewed sleeves out of microfiber cloths for the straps to protect the paint work and the seat.

With the top box and the original underseat storage on the GT model, I can't imagine ever needing more packing space; at least for solo riding. I've made three week-long trips to Indianapolis and several overnight camping trips with my camping gear and never had to pack anything more than what I could fit in the aforementioned space. Maybe it comes from decades of travelling on two-wheels but I have this down to a science now.

Of course, this doesn't apply to the more limited packing space available on the Sport... but that's why I didn't get the Sport in the first place.
 
Here's a photo of my scooter all packed and ready to go during one of our breakfast stops this past week (we went to Indianapolis and were on the road for a week). My buddy with the Silverwing is equally adept at packing. My other friend with the K1300GT... not so much:

The only thing in my trunk is my laptop computer bag and a hat. Under the seat I had a bag with three days worth of clothing and all of my "toilet articles" and my CPAP machine (I suffer from sleep apnea). If it weren't for the laptop bag, I wouldn't've needed the trunk. My friend with the Silverwing doesn't have a laptop (and probably wouldn't travel with it if he did). I have NO idea what my friend with the K1300GT was packing in all that luggage he had.
 
My stuff fits into the tunnel bag. My Girlfriend OWNS the box and the saddle bags. She packs light too but then goes shopping! Under the seat is for helmet, navigator and emergency storage for shopping!

So, you bought the GT because it will hold your clothes? Wouldn't have been cheaper to buy a suit case?
 
No, I bought the GT because I HATE having to strap extra crap on the outside of the bike in plain sight. Having had soft bags stolen off my bike in the past, if it doesn't have lockable, secure storage, I don't want it. On camping trips I've been able to fit my tent, sleeping bag, sleeping pad and other items under the seat leaving the trunk available for clothing... again, with nothing superfluously bungeed to the outside of the bike.
 
Being able to keep everything inside the bike was a consideration for me as well. My previous long bike trips were all on Goldwings of various models and I got used to keeping everything inside and locked up. I find I can to the same on the GT. It has almost as much room for stuff as my GW did, plenty for the way I travel.
 
Now I do keep my valuables locked in the top case, but, since I already had the side cases, I use them for the Cpap machine and anything else I need. If I need a duffle bag, so be it, it is put to use as a backrest. For the $2000. I saved by buying the scoot, I will tie stuff on, no problem.

As for stuff being stolen, I only worry once, when It gets stolen. When I stop for coffee I sit by the window and park where I can see the bike. I do lock my new helmet its so comfortable, I would hate to lose it. Bell Star Custom Fit, first helmet I have had since the sixties that has ever fit right!!
 
I have wanted more cargo space from the time I purchased my 650. The Dealer I got my bike from was able to set me up with a GIVI Top Box at purchase. Side bags didn't seem to be available but now I that GIVI has them for the C series as well.
