Got my new Aeroflow windscreen plus new tires. Ready to go to Indy MotoGP.

Now, seeing Jaime in a kilt...

Made it to the "Halfway Point" in Washington, PA at 4:00. Smooth sailing up until the final 10 miles when the skies opened up into a DELUGE. Fortunately, my Aerostich Darien suit performs exactly as advertised, and six miles later when the sun came out the suit was soaked on the outside but I was dry as a bone inside. Waffle House breakfast tomorrow!!

St. Elmo's Steakhouse has a terrific and fiery shrimp cocktail. The food is very good but expensive. Even though the business there did not go well for me I always enjoyed Indianapolis. I mostly dined on Martinis and shrimp cocktail.

Jaime....How's about some pictures, bro! I'm gonna be stuck in Louisville, and while it is one fantastic town, I am going to miss the downtown Indy experience and have to live it through anything you can provide.

My friend took a lot of photos, I'll have to dump his camera. I just brought my phone and by the time we got to Meridien the battery was pretty shot. Just enough to take a photo of the Tilted Kilt, and one of our lovely waitress Heather. I did get a photo of my favorite #93. Not Marc Marquez, but Shelina Moreda, the lovely lady who races in the XR1200 series.

Looking forward to the ride report.

In as much as I started the "Welcome Ladies" thread (that turned into a, well, over blown fiasco...sorry about that ladies and gentlemen) I am pretty sure I am not allowed to comment on your post and especially the pictures. So, I will only say this....You remain my hero.:D

Man, that is the truth. Especially real scooters like Vespas. They walk right by the Harleys, Triumphs, and BMWs in my little village downtown and stop and stare at the Vespa (not sure it's a Vespa or one of the look-a likes) while commenting on how cute it is. I have a picture somewhere with the scooter parked right in the middle of a bunch of hogs.

This isn't the picture I mentioned in the previous post but here's a real Chagrin Falls scooter guy....

And, oh yeah, you bet there's gonna be a cop following that wild man!

(The Starbucks I have mentioned a few times is partially in the background. You can see some of the bikes lined up in front.)

Hmmm, well, I don't have a usual time. My office is around the corner at 33 River and I typically park underneath in the garage unless I see any unusual bikes. As you know, mostly Road Kings. A good group of guys as far as I can tell. Had a snide comment from a guy with a new Street Bob a little while ago, and one of the regulars that rides a beautiful Custom suggested that they had "inspected" my C650GT and had a good deal of respect for the machine. The best comment I've had so far regarding the storage, "Damn, man, I have 4 kids. Where would I put the other two?"

But on really nice days, the Beemer and I ride to work together and sometimes we'll stop there for our morning coffee. Earlier in the summer I had a demo 800GS for two weeks and stopped there one day. One of the barista gals thought I got rid of my C650GT and commented that she preferred "the red one". Clearly, you and I made the best choice in choosing our specific BMW not only for speed and handling but also for aesthetics :D

After originally retiring in 2001 and then deciding to come back to work in 2011, I have found that when I added the C650GT my ride to work (and home) takes much much longer.:)

I am traveling* much of the next 4 weeks, but we'll get together soon. I'll PM you.

*Not Doraemon kind of traveling...I rarely leave North America. Wonder what his passport looks like?
