If you want a C600Sport but can't find one...

Just read the full details on Yamaha USA's page. They did it AGAIN. One of the most exciting, sporty scooters ever built, and they sell it in one BORING color (gray). Are you kidding me??? All they have to do is look at the available colors they have for the YZF-R1, YZF-R6 or even (my favorite new model) the YZF-R3 to see what SPORTING riders want!

I still remember the 50th anniversary colors they made for the TMAX, but sold in Japan ONLY. It was gorgeous in their classic red and white MotoGP livery. I think a Blue/Yellow/White Valentino Rossi color scheme would go over really big. Since they awarded a TMAX to Jorge Lorenzo when he won his first World Championship, even a Blue/Red/White Lorenzo model would seem appropriate.

But plain, dull GRAY?? C'mon, Yamaha! Wake up!!

Skutorr, good to know they gave it a little more leg room. It sorely needed it. Now if they only gave you a little more flexibility to slide your feet BACK while riding...

But even my old 2009 had more legroom than the 2014 Burgman I rode last year. That thing is frankly ENORMOUS compared to even my C650GT, and I was surprised at how cramped I felt riding it.

Well that cuts down on like 98% of all internet forum comments; this one notwithstanding. :p

Of course, discussion makes the world go round. Having been a salesmen, a discussion should include; what do you have now, what do you like about what you have, what do you want to gain from something new, and if appropriate; here is why what I have will fill your requirements.
When I am smitten with a new model motorcycle or scooter, I feel excitement and desire. Slowly, I will remember my requirements and keep what I have.
I do understand , for some people, part of the adventure IS something new. If they don't like their new bike, they can continue the adventure over and over. Yes, buying bikes is fun!!

The stylishly dressed rider understands that gray goes with everything!!

When I bought my sport, I was also considering a Moto Guzzi. A major detractor was the absence of leg position flexibility.

Sometimes we want what we want; others we think a little more carefully. I tried really hard to buy a motorcycle, mostly because of the choices vs. scooter. Plus I do think they look better in general. But again, when it came time to put up or shut up, my money went with what I consider the best package for every day use. Scooters have it over MC's pretty much all around for practicality.

The Italians bikes gave me the biggest, well, you know...But I just couldn't justify it. I'm too practical I guess. Still, maybe someday and Aprilia or Moto Guzzi will be in my garage.

True, true. I admit it might be a part of the reason I own 3 bikes. And this year I am going back to golf. Looks like I'll have to retire again to do things more important than work.

My oldest daughter went to the motorcycle show with me and is thinking about a PTW after having been away from them for years. Something as large as the BMW scoots would be too much for her, but a smaller 400#ish bike (hmmm, the G650GS maybe) would do the job. So now I get to look for more bikes. Yeah, bike buying really is fun!

I'm still seriously considering putting a brand new Yamaha YZF-R3 on my Discover card...

Can you get one for me too? I could use it for going back to the hardware store on the weekends when I have forgotten to get what I actually went there for.

Yeah, Jaime, way less than 400 lbs + 300cc's, considering you are a sport bike guy, plus having the C650GT and your K, I think it deserves strong consideration. A perfect fit. You should have that bike! And at the price they are asking...WOW!

(Sorry Mrs. Cruz)

Or, to get the 50th anniversary colors (close?) try the R-1.

OUCH! $21,000.00! Okay, try an R-6.
R6.jpg

Same price as a C650GT, about the same displacement engine. (or get one bike to do it all, with the SAME front suspension and radial Monobloc calipers as the R-1; the new 2015 Tmax...)

Nah, both of those are far more motorcycle than I need. The YZF-R3 would also get far better mileage than anything else in my garage and also make a nice play bike on the track. The seating position is also a lot more "rational" than either of its two bigger "brothers" (I sat on all three at the International Motorcycle Show a couple of months back).
