Like it but it needs something to balance the color on the bottom - like perhapssay the same color on the windshield mount and the passenger grab rails...

It's a great color - but IMHO is draws the eye to the least exciting part of the bike. How about using that great color on upper portion (gloss black) of the engine cover with orange accents on other parts? That portion has a great swooping design to it.

the lower fairing in the orange as well, I think would give it a swooping (nike-eske) look. more of a movement standing still look to it. So is that the KTM orange; then maybe try a sceme that looks like the superduke.

And play with it! if you do it with vinyl wrap, you can always changing it around...and it's cheaper!

Has anyone any painting experience with that type of plastic. I fear that considering the material it might be difficult to get primer and color to stick. But a vinyl wrap would be an easy reversible solution that also looks good. And much cheaper than a trip to the paint shop

There are paints made for the job, e.g. the same type of paint that is already on the bike. I've learned from sad experience to leave the painting to professionals with the equipment and knowledge. :(

The rim accents are awesome. Like PhilD, I too like the color a lot especially combined with the black.

Show us some more ideas.

There is a lot less paint on the sport, It looks like you have more opportunity to change the color scheme than we have on the other bike. honestly everything is bare black abs plastic except the four painted panels and the two grey molded plastic bits on the side of the bike that house the turnsignals on the sport. I have painted lots of plastics in automotive and deep glitter metal flake paint but not abs. It appears that the GT has a ton less of the abs stuff on board.

Though not quite belonging here in this thread, but thought I would shove in a picture of the new color; taken at the Cleveland Motorcycle Show last week. This is kind of a lousy representation of the color. It looks a lot better in person.

Lots of interest in the bike and the BMW lineup in general.
