Me too, the 650 is fine for a scooter. I've had the SW600, Burgman650 and now the BMW650GT. All had plenty of steam for a scooter platform. The GT does very will with a 400lb. load on the freeway and over the Siskyou pass as well as other steep hills in the area. When I want to get a more spirited ride I ride my K1100 which while not being a sport bike can do a good imitation of one. But for daily use especially in town and for errand, or during cold weather the GT is hard to beat. A larger engine means a larger fuel tank, heavier weight and poorer handling other than straight line riding. I think BMW got it pretty well balanced, decent fuel mileage, decent performance and handling. It'll beat a Harley Sportster 883 that I know for sure. Not bad for a scooter.
