Here's the scoop:
http://www.webbikeworld.com/2016-bmw-scooters/index.htm

No cruise control... but it does sound like they heard SkuTor's incessant urging to install HIT clutches and Dr. Pulley weights and sliders... ;)

LOL, that's how I read it too. But they do say heavier rollers, so won't be pulley sliders. Glad to see the handle bar covers finally smartened up.

The full spiel has been posted here.

+1 on the cruise control, so nothing for me to see here. The concept had it (and the wonder wheel and the rear view cameras.....).

Actually, this is what was said in both reviews:

"A new CVT transmission, in conjunction with new clutch linings enables optimized clutch engagement and therefore a significantly more dynamic set-off response.

This was achieved by changing the transmission ratio spread of the CVT as well as by fine-tuning the centrifugal force weights."

They probably went lighter, for higher rpms at takeoff.

(No, they didn't hear me, or they would have gone with the sliders also, like Piaggio did on the SRV850. They DID listen to all those owners in Italy and Spain that said "F^ck It!" and put in HIT clutches and Mallossi variators while still under warranty, or the Dealers over there who did the SAME to keep customers happy...)

I wonder if you can RETROFIT the newer design parts under warrantee???

Ya know, ya gotta love the way they answered all the complaints about the rear view mirrors on the GT. Did they take the simple path and just raise the stalks a little higher to give you a better view?

NOOOOOOO!!

They have to come up with a complicated system of sensors to tell you there is "something" in your blind spot. Typical German OVER-engineering...

Negatory: "Softer springs and optimised clutch linings are used in the centrifugal clutch. In addition to increased roller weights, the transmission ratio spread of the CVT has been increased from 2.42 to 2.95. The long CVT ratio is now 0.82 instead of 1.00. The gear reduction ratio between the CVT output shaft and driven shaft has been shortened from 2.72 to 3.28."

Like you though, very interested in understanding whether the new clutch assembly will be offered under warranty to pre-'16 owners. Not holding my breath...

"Under Warranty" as in "Free?" DREAM ON. More likely available as an upgrade if you're willing to pay.

Those sensors will be blinking constantly if you are on the road as it says in the description 5 meters (almost 17 feet)

It seems clear that they heard users want better response off the line. However, they are still quoting the same 0-60 times in the article I saw so one wonders if they made any real performance improvement.

I'm really disappointed with the lack of cruise control. I don't know why they are being so pig headed about adding it to these bikes. At a minimum, you'd think they'd offer it on the GT. I've been having some serious tennis elbow problems to the point I am probably not going to make a 500 mile ride I had planned next month as I know without a cruise control, my elbow is going to flare up bad.

I was quite frustrated with distance traveling till I got the Kayoko. While it is no auto cruise there are a couple settings that are a drastic improvement. One is the "stay here" which mostly works on flat roads. The other is the "sort of stiffer" setting which I use often and it seems to relax my grip.

If there was a cruise control I'd get it in a heartbeat.

I have plans to order one. On my last ride, all I wanted to do was to be able to take my right arm and let it stretch/rest for a few minutes while cruising down the highway. I had a throttlebuster but it didn't work worth a damn imho I could barely move my right arm after that ride for two or three days.

I don't think my elbow issues are temporary. Real cruise control is a must on any new bike I purchase.

You gotta wonder about the logic of putting an electronic cruise control on the S1000RR, a bike that, in it's intended environment, will NEVER remain in a set speed (it is either full throttle or hard braking) but NOT on a TOURING scooter...

I agree on liking the blind spot sensors. Unfortunately, I have them on one car but not the other, so......yeah, have had to remind myself to pay closer attention when in the 4Runner and not the Buick Encore.

Kinda weird though. Sensors for blind spots and no cruise control. Ok, I'm beating a dead horse but geesh. Maybe there will be an aftermarket cruise control add-on that will show up (along with a useable tunnel bag).

Okay, you made me go back and read ALL of that second review and I MISSED IT!

Also, i noticed that aspherical mirrors are available on the 650 GT. They WORK, my brother put some on his Burgman 650 and they were incredible, no more blind spots. And a shitload cheaper than the new warning system...

I'm really confused by the C Sport update to be honest. I'm a bit jealous of the ASC update, but beyond that, I can't really see much worth writing home about. If anything, judging by the review, the CVT has probably only be re-tuned to comply with noise regs. Given we're dealing with the same engine and the same the peak output (44kW), there's still a chance the overall power curve is improved, but it would have to be marginal.
