I'm convinced! My new C600

Unless you are racing, heavy is better for bar weights.

yeah, I was little worried when I opened the package and felt how light they are. When I took of the stock and compared, I was less worried. I would like them to be a little more, but oh well. If I notice handling or vibration issues, I'll do something about it then.

For comparison, on the new Piaggio scooter, the top case came with new bar ends that weigh 500g.

How about a short discussion about bar weights. I have a Kaoko friction throttle control on the right which I love but it was quite a bit heavier than the stock bar end. I don't really notice the difference.

Maybe I'm just not that sensitive to the weight issue.

The bar end weights are a compromise. They are chosen for the most reduction at a particular rpm some bike's handlebars vibrate a lot at low rpms some get pretty buzzy at higway speeds. There are a lot of variables involved, number of cylinders, size, weight, length and shape of the handle bars and even the weight of the bike and fork configuration to manetion a few. On a Goldwing with it's heavy six cylinder opposed engine there's very little vibration if at all at any rpm, on a single cylinder 'thumper' it can be very rough at idle. My BMW K1100LT with its FOUR cylinder inline got pretty buzzy at hither rpms. It was enough that BMW not only had bar end weights but also mounted the handlebars to the bike with a rubber isolator.
I put the Kaoko throttle holder on my GT but it's pretty close in weight to the left hand bar end. I dion't notice any change in the vibes with the change.

On my Aprila 250 I noticed the difference from stock to the heavier bar ends and mirrors. But so far nothing on the BMW.

I had a 1957 HD Hydra Glide. It vibrated so much the handle bars were rubber mounted, and to such a degree they would move a couple of inches. Bar weights hadn't been invented yet. That bike vibrated like a washing machine on spin cycle!!!

That looks awesome!! I love the shorter windscreen. I'm going to have to order one. Mod fever can get expensive.

Thanks. Just make sure they have one to fit your model. Being a new design, it might take awhile. The BMW short screen, while expensive looks nice too. but it is even shorter than the Puig I put on.

Again, some pics are elsewhere in the forum but to continue documenting the progression of my C600, here are some pics with the GIVI easylock bags:

Near the Kings River. Just east of a town called Centerville on the way to Pine Flat Dam.

What is the airflow like on the highway with the shorter windscreen? Do you experience a lot of buffeting? Is there a lot of noise? Puig does have the shorter windscreen for the C650 Sport according to their website, I've yet receive a response from anyone about pricing or availability.

Of course it's a personal thing but I find it better in almost every way. There is more wind but not terrible. I often ride with it in the lowest position. Noise was biggest complaint about the OEM windscreen.

Yes, I do find the OEM windscreen to be quite noisy. I'm 6'3" and found the OEM windscreen most comfortable at the middle setting. Less noise than all the way up and less buffeting than all the way down. I love the look of the OEM shorty windscreen but think it might be too short. The Puig sport screen looks great.

I have the GIVI screen, which I also keep in the middle position, except for long highway stints. With my 5'8" height, I look through most of the time, but, if I straighten my back, I look over when necessary.

Very little engine noise / vibrations. However, wind noise can be an issue depending on your helmet and height. I'm 6'ft tall and the wind screen in the highest setting gives me some serious helmet buffeting above about 65-70mph. No buffeting at all at the middle setting. Lowest setting puts too much wind on me for highway riding imho. Its ok, but I feel like I am fighting the wind too much with my body (although it is great around the city during the summer for the breeze).

My sentiments exactly.
